Introduction to an annual wealth tax (A-level Economics)

(0)
Quick lesson on the merits of an annual wealth tax used with my Year 12 and 13 Economics students. -Students read the BBC article on a proposed wealth tax -Try to fill in the table with some pros and cons (using their own knowledge) -Then I put the Financial Times video on (20 mins; free on YouTube) and asked students to update their table accordingly -Also resulted in a good discussion in my classes after viewing I found this was a good way to help my students understand a real world issue that isn’t necessarily in the syllabus. I did something similar with Universal Basic Income here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12772087
